Description
Pictured is a a portion of a limestone frieze carved by Frederick Miles in 1895 on the Drhumor Building in Asheville, North Carolina. The building was completed in 1896. Frederick Miles was a Biltmore sculptor. The Drhumor Building is believed to be the oldest extant commercial building in Asheville, and was purchased by Wachovia Bank in 1929. It is now home to the law firm of McGuire, Wood & Bissette, P.A. and was restored in 1996.
