Description
Guangyue Tower, one of the top ten famous buildings in China, is located in the ancient city center of Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. It is an ancient building with important historical and cultural value. It was built in the seventh year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1374), has a history of more than 650 years, and is one of the largest existing Ming Dynasty pavilions in China. Guangyue Tower is not only known as the landmark building of Jiangbei Water City because of its long history and unique architectural style. The architectural style of Guangyue Tower combines the traditional characteristics of Song and Yuan architecture with the characteristics of Ming and Qing architecture, and is a representative of the transition from Song and Yuan architecture to Ming and Qing architecture. Its four eaves and mountain cross ridge pavilion structure shows the exquisite skills of ancient architectural art. In addition, Guangyue Tower also carries rich historical and cultural information, which is closely related to the prosperity of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and is an important cultural heritage of Liaocheng and even Shandong region.
