Description
Claude Oscar Monet was an important French painter. He is considered the founder of the artistic movement Impressionism, the name of which is derived from his painting Impression, soleil levant (Impression, sunrise).He was born in Paris as the second child of Claude Adolphe and Louise-Justine Monet. When he was five years old, his family moved to the town of Le Havre, which is located in northern France in Normandy. There he became best known for his carbon cartoons. Later he met the painter Eugène Boudin, who discovered Monet's painting talent and became his teacher. He taught him how to use oil paints and also how to use plein air techniques
