Bichitra means Offbeat in English and surely this place is different and incredible. It is an unexplored mangrove forest in the Balasore district of Orissa, India. It is situated at the confluence of the Subarnarekha River and the Bay of Bengal. It is spread over an area of 563.00 Ha. It is famous for its marine ecosystem having a unique assemblage of floral and faunal resources. Though it’s not as big as the other mangrove forest it offers beautiful speed boat rides in river waters, where, especially in the winter, you can witness migratory birds, red crabs, and horseshoe crabs.
