Stylized image of Weeping Window Poppy Sculpture at Ulster Museum, Belfast. (HDR) #334690974
Description
Weeping Window is a sculpture by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, marking the centenary of the outbreak of war. The purpose was to prompt a dialogue around the legacy of the First World War.It is a cascade comprising several thousand handmade ceramic poppies seen pouring from a high window to the ground below. This image was taken at the Ulster Museum, Botanic Gardens, Belfast. A poignant reminder for Remembrance Day. âLest we forget.âThe background is stark, and not softened, to highlight the reality of the message the artist was sending.
