Frida Kahlo, born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón, was a Mexican painter of the early 20th century. She was the wife of the painter Diego RiveraShe was a representative of surrealism. An unfortunate accident led her to painting - at the age of 18, she was traveling on a bus that was hit by a tram. Subsequently, she stayed in bed and started painting out of boredom. She dealt with the consequences of the accident all her life. From the beginning, she was influenced by cubism. She left behind more than 200 paintings, mainly self-portraits.
