Description
The Sema Tauy, or sma tauy or sema knot, is a religious symbol of ancient Egypt. It is a symbol that represents the Union of Upper and Lower Egypt in a single power but, if placed on the body of a deceased, it meant the total integrity of the body even after death. This symbol therefore has very strong symbolic meanings such as union and integrity. In this image it is placed in the center of a composition with two axes and a decorated shield.
