Elder Protester Against Rosia Montana Cyanide Gold Editorial Image

This month in Bucharest, Romania, are taking place massive protests against the Canadian Gold Corporation which would like to build the largest opencast gold mine from Europe in the small town of Rosia Montana in northern Romania, using cyanide method of exploitation. 15,000 people, student, parents, rallied on 8th of September to protest against this type of exploitation carrying sign reading I love nature, not cyanide Cyanide kills us. Gabriel Resources Ltd plans to use 12,000 tons of cyanide every years to be able to extract the gold from the earth. This will eventually bring to a ecological disaster which will haunt the people from Rosia Montana for the next 30 years.
