Plasmodesma in plant cells illustration #336855773
Description
Plant cell connections. Illustration of plants cells and the connections (plasmodesmata) that allow communication, signalling and transport between the cells. The cells are shown in sectioned view here, with each cell having a cell nucleus, a vacuole, and a primary cell wall. The plasmodesmata are the rods between the cells, with the cytoplasm able to pass between cells. Between the cells is the area called the middle lamella, a pectin layer that cements the cells together and provides rigidity.
