Description
This breathtaking image captures the stunning landscape of the Jialing River in Beibei, Chongqing, showcasing an impressive array of eight bridges spanning a short distance between Wentang Gorge and Guanyin Gorge. Among these are four railway bridges and four road bridges, highlighting Chongqing's reputation as the "City of Bridges."The unique concentration of bridges within such a short stretch is a rare sight both nationally and globally. The vibrant blue waters of the Jialing River, flanked by lush green mountains, create a picturesque backdrop for this âEight Bridges Overlapping Greeneryâ scene. The bridges visible from closest to farthest include: Suichuan-Yu Railway Bridge, Lanyu Railway Tongzilind Bridge, Xiangyu Railway Bridge, Lanyu Railway Jialing River Chaoyang Bridge, National Road 212 Chaoyang Bridge, Chaoyang Reconstruction Bridge, and in the distance, (Beibei) Dongyang Bridge and Yuwu Expressway Jialing River Bridge.Notably, within a 1-kilometer radius, six of these bridges are clustered together, vividly illustrating decades of transportation achievements in Chongqing. The Chaoyang Bridge, completed in 1969, was once celebrated as "Asia's First Suspension Bridge" before its decommissioning in 2007. The Chaoyang Reconstruction Bridge, completed in 2011, now serves as its successor, while the Lanyu Railway Bridge, opened in 2015, is the newest addition, facilitating the China-Europe Railway Express.
