Spotted dove perched on a tree #337684529
Description
Spotted Dove scientific name: Streptopelia chinensis is about 30 cm long, similar to the size of a pigeon. The whole body is brown, and the neck to the abdomen is slightly pink. The most striking thing is that the sides of its neck are black and covered with white spots, like many `pearls` scattered on the neck, which is the most distinctive feature of this species, hence the name `bead-necked` turtledove. It inhabits plains, grasslands, low hills and farmland areas with sparse trees, and often occurs in weeds, bamboo forests and trees near villages or near homes.
