Description
The Antermoia refuge, managed by the Societa Alpinisti Tridentini, is one of the many alpine refuges in the Catinaccio group, in the Val di Fassa drainage basin. It is located in the Antermoia Valley, a few hundred meters from the lake of the same name, a stopover on the yellow itinerary of the Via Alpina. The ancient building that houses the refuge dates back to 1911. A subsequent restoration took place in the eighties, on the occasion of the opening of the yellow itinerary of the Via Alpina. In the last two summer seasons the refuge was completely renovated: rebuilt larger to have services adequate to the needs of current visitors. In recent years, photovoltaic panels have been installed to contribute to the building's energy needs, but maintaining the rustic external stone wall and the characteristics of SAT refuges. It currently has 62 beds. The refuge is located at an altitude of 2496 metres in the Vallon d'Antermoia, near the homonymous lake of Antermoia, one of the highest lakes in the Dolomites, and a short distance from the Dona Pass, a quarter of an hour's walk from the refuge.
