Description
A baroque chair is one of the most expensive and elite pieces of furniture. It is distinguished by its massiveness, intricate curves of shapes and lines. Wavy backs, smoothly tapering legs, large, cozy and very soft seats, as well as convex armrests give the chair richness, sophistication and grandeur, but at the same time incredible lightness and airiness. Complex carving, gilding, inlay with precious materials are used as decoration. Durable oak, cherry, yew, chestnut wood is used to make chairs. The upholstery is made of expensive decorative fabrics, finished with ornate fringe. Satin, brocade and velvet are most often used. In most cases, upholstered baroque furniture stands on high carved and curved legs made of natural wood. Such furniture creates an atmosphere of luxury and is reminiscent of the decoration of the palaces of European kings of the 16thâ18th centuries.
