Description
The Zouave the the Alma Bridge is a statue of Georges Diebolt, one of four sculptures representing the troops who participated in the Crimean War. The bridge is named after the Battle of Alma in the Crimea, which was won in 1854 by the English, the French, the Ottoman Turks and Piedmont expeditionary force against the Russians. The 3rd Regiment of Zouaves was especially shown during the Battle of the Alma managing to take the guns of the enemy. According to the Parisian tradition, when the Zouave's feet in the water, the Seine flooded. During the historic 1910 flood, water reached the shoulders of the Zouave
