The altar and the iconostasis of the Dumbrava Monastery, Romania. #341176122
Description
The Dumbrava monastery, located 55 kilometers from Alba Iulia, was built in only one and a half years and rivals the most famous settlements of this kind in the country. The monastery is built on the place where in 1703 the priest Ioan was martyred for defending the right faith, being burned alive in a haystack. The monastery is built in the form of a fortress with the bell tower at the entrance and the church in the center. The church preserves the Romanian style with a porch, nave and altar.
