Description
Desert of the southwest cactus bring vibrant color to the arid landscape. The golden torch is a beautiful, multi-stem, columnar cactus that produces many upright branches and grows to about five feet tall. Large, white, nocturnal flowers are six to eight inches in diameter. The showy and fragrant blossoms appear in late spring and blooms into June and later. The flowers open during the evening and last until around noon the following day, longer if it's cool or overcast. Location desert garden in Peoria Arizona near Phoenix.
