Quincy Jones, songwriter, arranger, composer, record producer and executive, and mentor attends the Vanity Fair Party for the 10th Annual Tribeca Film Festival in Lower Manhattan on April 27, 2011. Jones came up as a trumpeter and tastes branched out in numerous areas such as R and B, soul, funk, jazz, hip hop, bossanova, disco, and Rock and Roll. He arranged 3 of Michael Jackson's most successful albums. He brought together 45 of the most popular singers and songwriters to record the We Are The World record to raise money for the global effort to combat starvation in Ethiopia in 1985. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received an honorary Oscar, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Jones died at his home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles on November 3, 2024, at the age of 91.
