November 12, 2024, is the 100th birthday of Sun Yat sen University. From the opening of museums and school history museums, to the issuance of centennial commemorative coins, to grand cultural evenings.In 1924, Mr. Sun Yat sen personally founded National Guangdong University and wrote the school motto: "Learn, interrogate, think carefully, discern clearly, and act diligently. Huangpu Military Academy and National Guangdong University, with one martial arts and one literature, demonstrate Sun Yat sen's earnest expectations for the two schools to cultivate future pillars of the nation. After the death of Sun Yat sen, the school was named National Sun Yat sen University in 1926. Afterwards, there were several universities in China named after "Sun Yat sen University", but only one ultimately retained the name "Sun Yat sen University". In 1951, Xu Chongqing, the President of Sun Yat sen University, wrote a letter to the central government, deciding to change the anniversary of Sun Yat sen University from November 11th to November 12th (the birthday of Sun Yat sen), expressing his tribute to this great pioneer of the democratic revolution.
