Great cormorant is the biggest sized species in the cormorant group (about 90 cm). It has glossy black plumage with a prominent white patch on lower sides of it’s head and yellow facial skin. In flight, it appears relatively thick-necked, large-winged and short-tailed. Often spotted standing on rocks or pilings. Dives frequently, feeding on fish. Found in many types of water bodies, ranging from rivers to reservoirs to marine environments in Viet Nam, asia, North America, restricted to coastal North Atlantic.
