Among this year’s honorees were Najiba Ayubi, Director, The Killid Group, Afghanistan; Bopha Phorn, reporter, The Cambodian Daily; and Edna Machirori, the first black female editor in Zimbabwe. Machirori received the IWMF Lifetime Achievement Award.
