Fontana dei Tre Leoni, fountain of the three lions, Assisi, Italy #346527601
Description
In the heart of Assisi, on the east side of the Piazza del Comune, this fountain with three lions refers to the three districts of Assisi. Its first records date back to 1303, it was rebuilt for the first time in 1467 and the last time in 1772 by the stonemason Giuseppe Martinucci based on a design by the architect Valeri. It is very well integrated into the context in which it is located and the finely sculpted lions and coats of arms at the base of the basin.
