Title
Lisbon tile on the facade of a building #346547644
Description
The art of Portuguese tiles, known throughout the world, has an origin that dates back to the time of the Arab presence in the Iberian Peninsula. Normally square, the tiles are painted, often by hand, with artistic, geometric and epic motifs. In these thin pieces of ceramic, one side is glazed, which results from being baked in the oven with an enamel coating that makes the surface waterproof and shiny.
