Description
Burflower tree (Neolamarckia cadamba), also known as Leichhardt pine, and called kadamb or cadamba in India. It's an evergreen, tropical tree from the family Rubiaceae and is native to South and Southeast Asia. It has sweetly fragrant red to orange flowers in dense globe-shaped clusters which in early stage appear like a Covid-19 virus. It is grown as an ornamental plant and for timber and paper-making. Its fruit occurs in small, fleshy capsules packed closely together to form a fleshy yellow-orange fruiting head.
