Mazu is said to be a shamaness from Fujian who had lived in the late 10th century and is worshiped throughout China's coastal regions and overseas Chinese communities throughout Southeast Asia. Dalongdong Baoan Temple is a Chinese folk religion temple located in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. Originally built by immigrants from Xiamen, Fujian in the early 19th century, it was conferred the status of level 2 historic monument by the Taiwan government in 1985 and inducted into the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation in 2003.
