Morotai Island is located north of the largest island, Halmahera, in the province of North Maluku, Morotai Island has a variety of beautiful beaches and interesting diving spots. The largest city here is Daruba which is located in the north. From Daruba you can explore some truly beautiful beaches, such as Dodola Island in the southwest, Gorango Beach in the northeast, Kokoya Island in the northwest, Tabailenge Island in the east, and Rorasa Beach which is also in the eastern part of Morotai Island. In addition, there are also various relics from World War II, such as the statue of General Douglas MacArthur standing firmly on Sum Sum Island not far from Daruba. Near Kao Bay around Halmahera there is also a wreck of a Japanese warship named Tosimaru and can be seen from a distance. A house containing World War II memorabilia collected by the local community is also here, precisely at the Morotai Museum.
