Description
Bodh Gaya, situated in the Gaya district in the Indian state of Bihar, is considered to be the holiest site in Buddhism. Muchalinda Sarovar is where the Buddha spent the 6th week in meditation under his Enlightenment, under the hood of snake king of the lake, who sheltered him from the rain and thunderstorm. The Mahabodhi Temple Complex was inscribed into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2002.
