Description
Bidens pilosa is a species of annual herbaceous flowering plant in the daisy family Asteraceae. Its many common names include hitch hiker, black jack, beggar, farmer's friend and Spanish needle, but it is most commonly referred to as a cobbler's peg. It is native to the Americas but is widespread as an introduced species in other regions including Eurasia, Africa, Australia, South America, and the Pacific Islands, and is classified as an invasive species in some areas of the world.
