Yanjing County (now cancelled) is located in the east of Xizang Autonomous Region, in the southeast of Changdu, between Hengduan Mountains and Tranquility Mountains, bordering Jinsha River in the east and Lancang River in the west. It is rich in natural resources. Now there is a Yanjing Nature Reserve, covering an area of about 13000 square kilometers.Yanjing County is a settlement of Tibetan and Naxi ethnic groups, with unique cultural traditions. The millennium old salt fields are an important cultural heritage in the area, and some salt fields are still producing salt, mainly used for herdsmen to raise livestock.
