Filmmaker/producer Bunny Ratner joins Harry Ettlinger, known as a ââ¬ÅMonuments Man,ââ¬Â appeared at a screening of Ratner's short film, ââ¬ÅI was There,ââ¬Â The Story of Harry Ettlinger---The Monuments Man,ââ¬Â at the Livingston (NJ) Public Library on March 27, 2014. The short film was followed by a lively discussion, q-and-a session. ââ¬ÅThe Monuments Menââ¬Â became a critically-acclaimed film in 2014. Ettlinger, at 88, a New Jersey resident, is one of a handful still alive from the group charged with retrieving vast quantities of art stolen by the Nazis during World War 2. Ettlinger was a German refugee and served a vital role as an interpreter and translator in the project. Livingston mayor, Michael Rieber is presenting Ettlinger with a proclamation in his honor from the town's council.
