Fraunces Tavern, in downtown Manhattan. The building is owned by Sons of the Revolution, which claims it is Manhattans oldest surviving building. It played a prominent role in pre-Revolution and American Revolution history and was the place where George Washington bade farewell to his officers after the British troops evacuated New York.
