Facade of Orvieto Cathedral, Italy #39898688
Description
The Cathedral of Orvieto, a large 14th-century Roman Catholic cathedral, is dominating the town of Orvieto in Italian Umbria. Due to the location on a volcanic plug, the cathedralââ¬â¢s facade is a classic piece of religious construction, containing elements of design from the 14th to the 20th century, with a large rose window, golden mosaics and three huge bronze doors. The Gothic facade of the Orvieto Cathedral is one of the great masterpieces of the Late Middle Ages.
