Mapostori Outdoor Church Sect Zimbabwe Editorial Image

The Mapostori outdoor church sect is a hugely popular religion across much of Zimbabwe in both remote rural tribal areas and within the urban town and city environs. Seemingly the followers of this outdoor church sect have increased even more due to Zimbabwe's current climate of high unemployment, rampant corruption & poverty. In some South African cities the municipal authorities have had problems with Zimbabwean refugees who belong to the Mapostori outdoor church sect holding gatherings in municipal parks and recreational areas, litter and the cutting of trees being the main problem. I took these series of photographs in an extremely remote area in Gokwe North, Zimbabwe. Sect members dress in white robes and the pastors and priestesses in red and yellow robes.
