Kozia street in Warsaw, Poland #40928746
Description

The origins of the Kozia street (Kozia in Polish means: goat) date back to the 14th century when it serves as a utility street. In the 19th century it became very fashionable with many cafes and restaurants (Frederic Chopin being a frequent guest of one of them). The street was completely destroyed by Germans during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. The reconstruction works were being performed in the years 1945-1951. At present, it is a nice, quiet, narrow street at the back of Krakowskie Przedmiescie - the most elegant street of Warsaw on the Royal Route.
