Statue of Ion Heliade Radulescu, placed in the center of Bucharest (University Square). Ion Heliade Radulescu was a romanian poet, writer and politician and one of the foremost champions of Romanian culture from the first half of the 19th century. He was also founder of the Romanian Academy. The statue is part of a group of 4 statues, very representative to the history of the place and Romania in general. The statue was executed in marble by Ettore Ferrari and was uncovered in 1880.
