Martins Fork River is one of Kentucky's eight dedicated and protected wild rivers. It is in the upper watershed of the mighty Cumberland River. This section of the river is just below the Cumberland Gap National Park boundaries. Mountain Laurel bushes along the banks are covered in a light winters snow.
