The summer sun sets over the Cumberland Plateau. This scene was captured from top of the White Rocks in the Cumberland Gap National and Historic Park. Dramatic skies reflect on the surface of this vernal pool in the rock face. The Kentucky Appalachians can be seen to the right of the ridge ahead and the Virginia valley can be seen to the left.
