This Austrian Calvary is a foundation of the small peasant Anton Wilhelmer, called Hießlertoni. At a young age when working with wood in steep forest terrain he came in mortal danger and in that bitter hour he did the vow to build this Way of the Cross, if he would survive the accident. This mountain sanctuary developed into a popular pilgrimage site, where according to old tradition the Easter liturgy is celebrated annually.
