The Mediterranean Snail (Theba pisana) is originating from the mediterranean area (Italy) but has expanded over most of Europe, America and Australia causing severe damage to the crops. It likes to aestivate clinging to sticks, grasses and plants like the Wild Carrot (Daucus carota) which is a biennial plant and the wild form of our Carrot. It is also originating from the mediterranean and the root part is purple in color while the bred carrot has an orange color.
