Power House On Heart Island, Alexandria Bay, New York Stock Photo

Heart Island was a project by George Boldt circa 1900 as a gift for his wife. Along with a castle like mansion the project included at power house, containing an electrical generator, in the form of a castle. When Mrs. Boldt died, the structure was left to decay for 70 years. The Thousand Island Bridge Authority, a government agency, now owns the property and is in the process of restoring it.
