Description
A Tachina Fly (Cylindromyia interrupta) is an insect belonging to the family of the true flies, Tachinidae, order of the Diptera. The larvae of this species act parasitically on other insects while the adults do not feed at all or visit flowers and decaying matter. This specimen is feeding on the flowers of a Wild Carrot plant (Daucus) which is the ancestor of our domesticated carrot.
