Poppy and chamomile field. A Poppy is a flowering plant in the subfamily Papaveroideae of the family Papaveraceae. Poppies are herbaceous plants, often grown for their colourful flowers. One species of poppy, Papaver somniferum produces edible seeds, and is also the source of the crude drug opium. Chamomile or camomile (/ÃËkæmõmiÃÂl/ KAM-Ãâ¢-meel or /ÃËkæmõmaêl/ KAM-Ãâ¢-myl)[1] is the common name for several daisy-like plants of the family Asteraceae[2] that are commonly used to make a herb infusion that can help to induce sleep. Because chamomile has been known to cause uterine contractions that can invoke miscarriage
