The Igreja Matriz de Santo Antonio in Tiradentes, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Completed in 1710, it’s the earliest of the major Minas Baroque churches, and for a decade was the largest and richest church in any of the mining towns. Founded in 1702, the town of Tiradentes, with its beautiful colonial architecture, is much as it was in the eighteen century, when gold was found in the area.
