Description
Netherlands, Zeeland province, former island of Walcheren, Vlissingen city: in the street, the Boulevard de Ruyter Gevangentoren [porison tower] a remnant of the town gate the Western Gate of the sixteenth, 16th century. The tower is also called Bomb-proof and is alternately built, constructed of layers of bricks and stone and feature a pointed hood, steeple. Today the building is used as a restaurant and bar, part of the outdoor patio, terrace surrounded the historic pawn. In the past, the function of the tower has been a military jail, city jail. The tower is located in the downtown, historic center, city center and is a famous landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction, magnet. On the boulevard are also new, modern apartments, high-rise buildings.
