Singapore - October 3, 2014: The ornate tomb of Singapore Chinese World War Two hero General Lim Bo Seng. Major-General Lim Bo Seng (1909 - 1944) was a prominent Hokkien businessman who undertook active leadership in anti-Japanese activities during World War II. He is a local war hero in Singapore. Before Singapore fell to the Japanese in February 1942, he escaped to India where he was joined by the British resistance group, Force 136. In India, Lim Bo Seng was trained by the British for intelligence work. Lim Bo Seng died as a Japanese prisoner of war in June 1944. After the war, in 1945, his remains were buried at the current spot on a hill overlooking Macritchie Reservoir.
