They were discussing the play, “Timbuktu,” which Holder directed and choreographed, and in which Ms. Kitt starred. Holder was a multi-talented Trinidadian-American actor, choreographer, director, dancer, painter, costume designer, singer, and voice-over artist. He became widely recognized for his lilting Caribbean accent doing televisions commercials for “7 UP,” soft drink, and BWIA Airlines. Holder appeared in a James Bond film and won a Tony Award for both direction and costume design for Broadway’s “The Wiz.” Holder died in New York at 84 on October 5, 2014
