Ephesus (/ÃËÃâºfÃâ¢sÃâ¢s/;[1] Greek: á¼ÅÃâ ÃÂµÃÆÃ¿Ãâ Ephesos; Turkish: Efes; ultimately from Hittite Apasa) was an ancient Greek city[2][3] on the coast of Ionia, three kilometers southwest of present-day Selçuk in ðzmir Province, Turkey.
