Description
The cliff is basalt lava that had formed polygonal columns when cooling - 500000 years ago. It is named for Shoshone Indians, who had lived here and whose use of Bighorn Sheep earned them the name >Sheepeaters. The cliff is located off Grand Loop Road, south of Mammoth Hot Springs (Wyoming/USA).
