Winter 1918 Frost Lined #45855781
Description
We know winter is arriving when those chilling, biting, freezing blustery artic winds, not only increasingly blow the trees leafless, they also bring those frosty, chilly mornings when, if we venture out unsuitably dressed, we can end up frostbitten and frozen. The sky is turned a bleak cloudy cover and with it comes the first falls of snow, turning the green grass white and our water features freeze in the icy conditions. Mists often appear below the cloud cover and emphasise the crisp powdery snowy ground covering. How we long for the thaws that melt the wintertime away and the time when we can escape from being snowbound into a melting, slushy environment, that makes the wind less nippy and we escape from that shivering mode we have been in for some considerable time.
