Description
Bokar is one of the five most important fortresses in the city walls of Dubrovnik and is located at the western end of walls. The fortress was constructed and completed by Michelozzo draft in 1570., although construction began in 1461. Architectural still it is clean and neat circular volume with three courses with very interesting internal spaces and terraces. It was used for artillery fire to defend the town moat and bridge at the Vrata od Pila and control access to the sea in the event of a siege or disembarking enemies in the harbor Pile. The fortress Bokara was suitable for artillery exercises from 1463. to examined the range of cannons .
