Title
Two corresponding gables of the Haarlem type, Holland #48763818
Description
When the expansion of Haarlem was finally begun in 1680, most wealthy citizens had already left Haarlem for Amsterdam and only a few remained to build new residences here. Depending on the wealth of the owner of the house, the brick walls were covered or ornamented with elements of natural stone and overdoor ornaments. Roofs were hidden behind ornamented gables like stepped gables.
